I love my husband very much. I want to be the best wife that I can be for him. Even though I know he considers us to be equals in our marriage I still do my best to show respect to him as the head of our household. Of course like any marriage we sometimes have our disagreements. We sometimes let our emotions get the better of us. Maybe me more so then him.

I started reading the book Messy Beautiful Love by Darlene Schacht a couple of weeks ago. I’m a slow reader so I am only up to Chapter four, but her book has already made me look at my marriage and how I deal with different situations in a different way. Like how she talks about love not boasting. It was a reminder for me not to say hey look at what I did today and wait for my husband to praise me. Or to show off with something else and compare him to myself. I’ve realized that really doesn’t make either one of us feel good about ourselves. Quite the opposite. Her book has been a good reminder for other things as well. Like remembering that it’s better to love my husband then winning an argument or cheering for him instead of saying something negative.

I love my husband with all my heart. I love standing by his side wherever we go or whatever we are doing. I want to be the best  wife I can be for him. I’m thankful for his Godly leadership in our house. I understand that marriage isn’t 50/50 it’s 100/100. I am thankful for the reminder from this book to not just love my husband, but to give him the support and love that he needs and deserves. To not say hey look at me, but to be there for each other.
