The other day I was talking with my husband about our wants and needs. More specifically we were talking about wanting a new pool and needing to get our driveway done. We were talking about when we could afford to do them and then I told my husband I’ve been praying about both. I was telling him how I like to pray about my wants and needs while I’m folding the laundry.
After I said this to him I realized I do some of my best praying when I’m folding my laundry. That is just what I told my husband too. The more I thought about it the more I realized how true my statement was. I really do all my best praying while I fold the laundry. On those days it’s just me,in our bedroom, folding clothes and talking to God. I tend to look out our bedroom window while I’m doing this.
This is my alone time with God. This is when I can talk with God out loud about what ever is on my mind. This is when I tell Him about what I want.Whether or not I’ll ever be able to have it or not. This is the time when I tell Him about my needs and my families needs. This is the time when I ask Him why certain things are happening or not happening. Do I ever get an actually answer from God right there and then, no, but I love talking to God at those moments. I know in time He will answer me. I’m thankful for those quiet moments I have with God while I’m folding my families laundry.
