Hello there! Thank you so much for visiting my blog!
This is the page where I tell you a little about me. Possibly a lot about me. So here it goes!
My name is Kathleen Smith. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I am the third Italian generation on my dad’s side born here in the USA and the third Irish, Italian and English generation on my mom’s side born here in the USA.
I am the youngest of two daughters. Growing up I loved spending time with my family.
I have been married to my husband for over twenty years now and he is still the love of my life. We live in UpState NY with our kids and dog. I still love spending time with my family, but now that family is my husband and kids. Although I have to admit my husband is my absolute favorite person to spend time with.
I spend a bunch of my time on my laptop promoting my books and blog. When I’m not doing that I’m cleaning my house or spending time with my family.
I love traveling to other Countries. So far we have been to Ireland, England, France, Italy, The Vatican City, Germany, India, Scotland and San Marino. I am looking forward to more overseas adventures with my family soon!
I have been a self published author for over five years now. Funny thing about that is, If anyone had asked me growing up if I ever thought I would become an author, I would have laughed. Here I am now an author and a blogger! Who would have thought! NOT ME!
All of my books are memoirs with the first book being on the topic of miscarriages. I have had three of my own miscarriages and I found writing about them and putting my thoughts and feeling into words for other women to read would hopefully help them. It turns out that my book indeed has helped other women around the world to get through their miscarriages. It also helped my own emotional healing.
My other memoir was my husbands idea. He thought it would be nice if I wrote about my childhood growing up in Brooklyn. The things I did. The places I went. What family gatherings were like for me. I think you get the picture. Along with that I wrote what it was like for me moving to Upstate NY and starting a family. Sadly I also wrote about what it was like for me losing my mom to cancer. Writing about my mom wasn’t easy. Especially since I wrote it all while she was sick and right after she passed away. Let me tell you writing while you’re crying isn’t an easy thing to do. In this case however it was well worth it.
OH, Believe it or not I do have an audiobook with a bunch of my blog posts on it The title is Hey You Moments to Remember I decided to do that for people who don’t have time to read or prefer to listen to books. You can find all the information about my books below.
My book on miscarriages is about how I managed to get through three miscarriages, keep my marriage together and how I kept my relationship with God strong at the same time. My miscarriages happened in the first ten years of my marriage. I wasn’t the only one who was effect by my miscarriages. My husband was too. You can read all about it in my book or you can listen to it on audio. I am thankful to know that my books have been able to help other women all over the world to get through their own miscarriages. This book is available on Kindle, Paperback or Audiobook
My Brooklyn book has been written in three sections. The first part is titled Growing Up in Brooklyn. In this part I talk about what it was like for me growing up in Brooklyn. How I spent time with my family. Our vacations. What it was like for me going to work with my mom and a bunch of other stuff. The second part is titled Living in Upstate. In this part I share what it was liking for me moving to Upstate NY. How it was so different. What it’s like living in Upstate. The winter weather. The Country Fairs and such. The last part of my book is titled Good-bye Mom. The last part of this book was hard for me to write. Most of it was written after my mom passed away from cancer. I’m glad I wrote it though. In this part of my book you will read about how much I loved my mom and all the things we did together. This book is available on Kindle, Paperback or Audiobook
Last, but not least I have a YouTube channel with lots of videos on it. Videos about miscarriages, my stay in Ireland, My husbands driving in Italy, book trailers and more. You can find me by my user name katandsmith and if you would like to subscribe to my channel that would be great. In all honesty it would be great if you subscribed to my blog too!
