When I was growing up my family had an artificial Christmas tree. When I was little my dad was the one who put it together. Then we would all decorate it. When I was a teenager I would help my dad put it together. Then my family would decorate it.
My first Christmas after I got married my husband and I were getting ready to get a real Christmas tree. My first real Christmas tree! My sister-in-law invited us to go on their property and get a tree from their land. It sounded like fun to me so reluctantly my husband agreed. He tried to explain to me the difference between a Charlie Brown tree and the kind you buy.
When we got the tree home and finished decorating the tree I then realized what my husband was talking about. Yeah, we haven’t done that since.
This year, after 19 years of real Christmas Trees, we were going to buy an artificial tree. We changed our minds and did indeed keep with our family tradition and bought another real Christmas tree.
There is just something about going out with your family and getting your Christmas tree together. We then decorated it together and had a lot of fun.
